The main attraction in Navajo State Park is Navajo Reservoir. Three recreation sites are located along the 35 mile lake, which extends into New Mexico. The Colorado side includes the state park, and wildlife area, and encompasses 2469 acres of public land.

The facilities in the state park include a campground with 71 sites. Showers, flush toilets, tables, grills and water hydrants are included within the campground. Other facilities include a picnic area, visitor center, boat ramp and marina.

Most of the visitors to the park come for the outstanding boating and fishing. With so much surface area it's easy to be alone on the water, even on "crowded" summer days. Other recreational opportunities include hiking, mountain biking, and cross country skiing in the winter.

To get there take U.S. 160 west from Pagosa Springs for 17 miles, then turn southwest onto Colorado 151 for 18 miles to Arboles. Turn left again onto County Road 982 and drive two miles to the lake.
